AFTER weeks of haggling, Arsenal and Real Madrid have finally agreed terms for Nuri Sahin to replace Alex Song following his move to Barcelona.
According to the Daily Mail, the two clubs had been at loggerheads over the loan deal for the 23-year-old Turkish midfielder. Of particular angst to Real was the price Arsenal should pay if they wanted to buy Sahin at the end of the season. They were asking for “a fixed price” of £14 million, which the Mail says was vexing the Gunners. Now a compromise has been reached and Sahin will be arriving at the Emirates this week to begin his season-long loan spell.

Nuri Sahin is coming to town, thank God. Been quiet for a while now, that was because my excitement about Arsenals ability to challenge for the Premiership and to a certain extent the champions league was peaking, it was unbelievable, Wenger signing Lucas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla plus the players we had i.e RVP, Song, Theo, Ox, TV5, Major General Kosielny , a rejuvenated Rosicky and the return of Jack Wilshere made me salivate, we were the team to beat, not with the level of confidence we had after a bad start last season. All of a sudden my excitement got blown off by the sale of RVP to Manchester United, (Shaking my head). As if that was not enough Alex Song left for Barcelona, that was like hacking 50% of Arsenal off.
RVP
SONG

Felt so ashamed to continue my thoughts on Arsenal on a constant basis, my darling Arsenal FC has become a selling club. Each season two or three of our stand out performers leave for better pay or trophies just when the club is about to mount a serious challenge.
Looking at the bright side we have brought in Poldi, Giroud, Santi and now Sahin is the forth major signing Arsenal is making in a single summer, "better days man. better days".
Arsene even got Jose and Madrid to insert a buy out clause in the deal bringing Sahin to Arsenal shows that Arsene is a transfer market genius, not forgetting that we might see French internationals Yann M'vila and Phllip Mexes come in too.

MY THOUGHTS ?

Arsenal will lift a Trophy this season, no matter which one.

ARSENAL HATERS

This article about the pros and cons of Arsenal signing Santi Cazorla was extracted from goal.com
It reads like this
NB: The article is in red while my thoughts are in black.

Winging it: What a Santi Cazorla move could mean for Arsenal

After being heavily linked to the North London side, Goal.com takes a look at both the upside and the downside of Arsenal signing Santi Cazorla

Arsenal have been in the transfer news for all the wrong reasons recently, with yet another departure saga imminently unfolding. So instead, we focus on a man who has been linked to the club instead. Santi Cazorla is not currently a household name simply because he is behind some of the greatest wingers the world has ever seen. But he is immensely talented in the position and would be a real catch for Arsenal Football Club for reasons more than one.
“Arsenal has done some good business in the transfer market with the signing of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, and also promoting Kyle Bartley to the first team from within recently, why mess up Wengers efforts with false news as if he’s not doing anything and all his players are leaving. SMH.”
The first reason would be because of his ability. Comfortable on either wing, Cazorla is a player who will give you consistent return in terms of assists and goals. One of the better crossers in the modern game, he is good at both low and high crosses, remaining unpredictable all the time.
He has both pace and ability in his game to beat a man, and that bit of magic football juice that every one of the players of this Spanish generation seem to be born with. He has unlocked more than one stubborn defence in his time at Villarreal with a moment of iinspiration down the wing.
This was the primary reason why the nouveau riche Malaga bought him for the obscene amount of €21m but what return! The club has qualified for the Champions League play-offs which is a priceless opportunity for the Andalusians. Which brings us to the second point.

If Arsenal can grab Cazorla from Malaga, it will be a tremendous boost for the club's image. With skipper Robin van Persie raising his doubts over the road ahead for the club in their ambition to win trophies, which they haven't for the last seven seasons, their ability to attract a top footballer for pure footballing reasons has certainly taken a jolt.
‘”Arsenal has always been able and will always be able to attract top talent from across the globe but has this writer forgotten? We make stars not buy them. We always make em.”
If Cazorla, with the high wages of Malaga and more or less the same number of competitions to play in STILL opts for the Gunners, it will be a wave of confidence, and who knows, it may give Wenger more courage in the transfer market instead of waiting for another potential 8-2 humiliation seen last season.
Santi has agreed terms with Arsenal and what is this dude saying? Malaga is not even in the same class as Aston Villa, so don’t even go mentioning Mala shit beside Arsenal.
The writer’s choice of words even suck, talking about still opting for the Gunners like Malaga has got any history at all.
There is, however, a sizable flipside to this scenario. Just the intent, forget about the actual signing of another winger in a team overloaded with wingers and wide forwards is more or less a vote of no-confidence in them all. Especially when there's already a wide striker signed this season. It's Wenger's admission that what he has is either not ready or not good enough.
“Why can’t you just say Arsenal has done a good job with the signing they have made and the players on ground plus Santi Carzola would give Arsenal depth on the bench and make them stronger and really brighten the possibility of winning a trophy instead of the addition of more quality players leading to a drop in confidence? WOW!”
It could catalyze a clearance sale for the likes of Arshavin, Chamakh, and maybe even Rosicky. This new winger is a tricky business. Arsene Wenger had better tread with care. But then we know that Le Professeur has built a dynasty (albeit a currently falling one) by handling things with care.
Santi Cazorla

Don’t even want to say more. I love goal.com but they should not just allow some wanker write articles with blinded opinions for them. Why is no one writing or predicting doom for Liverpool or Tottenham? Arsenal are much more stronger than these teams and have a better shot at the title, why is nobody writing about them?
Manchester United are failing to attract top talents to Old Trafford and the Glazer family have failed to deliver on floating Man u shares in the New York stock exchange there by still leaving Man U in debt, why is no one saying anything about that?
Manchester City has not signed any player this summer while their rivals, like Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U are strengthening up, does it not pose a threat to their ambitions of retaining the title Man U LOST to them on the LAST DAY of the season? Aint no one talking about that.
Malaga’s money men are all of a sudden reluctant to pump any more money into the club, it shows that Arab money can dry up and is a potential DOOM for Man City and PSG. No one is writing about that too.
But all these writers know how to do is predict doom for Arsenal and eat their words at the end of the season when we turn out better than expected season after season.
Y’all Arsenal haters need to get a life.

ARSENAL HUNTS STRIKER

Arsenal has expressed an interest in signing Belgian international Kevin Mirallas.
The Belgian star has taken the Greek league by storm, scoring 34 league goals in 49 starts since joining the club from St. Etienne in 2010.
The 24 year old has a buy-out clause of just £6.4m, a fee that would be very attractive to Arsene Wenger who is renowned for operating shrewdly in the transfer market.
Mirallas has four years left on his contract but the Greek side can do little to stop clubs talking to their star striker due to the release clause in his contract.
However, the Belgian international’s good form for Olympiakos may not be enough for him to secure a move to the Premier League.

During a six year spell in France, he could only muster 13 league goals in 128 appearances, and has only scored five times in 27 appearances for Belgium, raising question marks whether Mirallas can perform at a higher level.

I've not talked about Arsenal and strikers since i read Robin Van Persie's  statement a few weeks ago but i have to break my silence on this at some point.
I'm really gutted that RVP is about to leave us, i thought we finally had a captain that was Arsenal through and through, but i was wrong, very wrong.
young RVP

We have been rocked since Thierry Henry and always managed to pick our selves up, but season after season an important player leaves, leaving us to pick up the pieces and move on.
Lately Cesc left and we still managed to find some one to pick out those passes in Alex Song, this now leaves me scared of having another of our players step up and carry the team cos he would want to leave after the season but is the captain of a team not supposed to carry his team?
So why carry your team and then decide they are no longer on the same level with you? every one in a team cant be world class but team work brings out the world class in you.
Commitment is really lacking at Arsenal, Commitment is what Chelsea have. Chelsea won the champions league wit ageing players who had their eyes on the price for almost a decade, if Drogba, Lampard and Terry had left they would not have won it but they kept on believing and the price came when their leg were getting weak.
If RVP decides to go, surely some one will step up and do the job for us, its not as if he has always been there since he was signed; some one else carried the team(which included) him all these while

In the absence of RVP next when the season starts we have Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski who look like they can do the job not to forget Nicklas Bendtner.
YES ! Bendtner. some thing gives me the feeling that he might just click at Arsenal this season but if he leaves then Kevin Mirallas will be a superb addition to the team but do we really want an attack that is new to the premiership? I really think Bendtner should stay if RVP has to go.

As for our players leaving, Wenger needs to call a meeting of the playing staff and ask for their commitment, if any one wants to leave let them leave now and we can bring in of promote from within committed players instead of derailing our plans every season

HOLTBY LINKED WITH GUNNERS MOVE

Arsenal are eyeing German starlet Lewis Holtby as a possible replacement for want away winger Theo Walcott, who like club skipper Robin van Persie has just 12 months left on his contract, and has rejected talks of a new deal.
The 21-year old German international has an English father and a German mother, and is said to be keen on moving to the Premier League in the coming years despite his early success in Germany.
Holtby signed for Schalke 04 in 2009 and was sent out on loan to Bochum and Mainz again the following season to gain first-team experience,Holtby played his first full season for Huub Stevens’ Schalke side last time around.
The German international has however indicated that a move to England was something that was bound to happen in the near future.
“I am very happy in Schalke. But I would be lying if I said I will definitely extend my contract,” Holtby is said to have told reporters earlier.
“My dream was always the Premier League – and someday I will make this step.”
With 23-year old Walcott is yet to agree on a new deal, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to test Schalke’s resolve for the midfielder who could easily replace Theo Walcott in the Arsenal side. Rumours have it that Arsenal could lose the winger for nothing next summer if they don’t sell him now or get him to put pen to paper on a new contract.
Walcott is said to want increased wages near a 100,000 Pounds per week.

Now we are looking at Lewis Holtby, some one we ought to be looking at though, he's that good.
As a replayment for Walcott?  Wenger please.
Holtby is a an Arsenal kind of player, silky moves on the ball, an eye for the perfect pass and can really dribble well, i see him as a Nasri replacement which we do need.
As for Theo? he wants a 100,000 a week, he scored 8 goal and made 8 assists last season for God sakes.
Don't think he has worked hard enough to deserve that much, i think he should concentrate on delivering for Arsenal before demanding an increase.

MY THOUGHTS ?

Holtby would be a great signing for Arsenal, a whole lot of player would in prove the Arsenal squad but we really need to evaluate where we need to improve and the buy or promote from within but if Holby would be a good replacement for Theo ? NO CAN DO ! but he would be a very nice addition to the team, would be like having Nasri back.
As for Theo's wages?
Please pay him, other clubs would, we need his experience and we don't want to give our rivals all the experience he's garnered at Arsenal.

ARSENAL LOOKING TO SELL WALCOTT?

Arsenal are ready to sell Theo Walcott.
The Daily Mail says Walcott meanwhile is unhappy with the offer of a new four-year deal, worth £70,000-a-week. He wants nearer £100,000 and has emerged as a target for Chelsea.
Wenger is prepared to allow the England international to leave at the right price, believed to be £15m.
The authenticity of this story is a dubious one, I don’t see how Arsene Wenger would rather deplete his squad rather than strengthen it, besides he would be strengthening the opposition In the process.
No doubt a lot of us Gooners feel Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is better, quite true but he is not as experienced as Walcott, Arsenal would be very strong with the two ex-Southampton FC speedsters playing together or one coming in for the other during matches.

Rumour has it that Theo wants wages near a £100,000 weekly, but in all sincerity he does not deserve that much but the truth is he should be paid the amount he wants not because he isone of the most important players in Arsenal but because of the following
1.       Theo is getting better with every season
2.       He’s been around for so long one would be excused for forgetting he’s only 23(he is yet to peak)
3.       We really do not want to sell a Walcott approaching his peak to a direct rival, it would confirm our status as a footballing school for the money bags.

we want to see him wearing the Arsenal red and white this coming season
Testimonies to Walcott’s threat
Walcott is well known for his blistering pace that accolades have come his way from players and coaches alike
·         Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola once declared that “you would need a pistol to stop him.
·         Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger likened him to the club's all time leading scorer, Thierry Henry.
·          FIFA World Player of the Year winner Lionel Messi has described Walcott as "one of the most dangerous players I have ever played against.

Pay him what he wants, we cannot afford to loose him, not now.
